…for being hypocrites and thinking they can talk their way out of it.
They’ll run an advocacy ad during the Super Bowl from Focus on the Family, one of the most anti-choice and homophobic organizations in the country — but in 2004 they refused to run an ad by the United Church of Christ highlighting its welcoming stance toward gays and others who might feel shunned by more conservative churches…because it’s CBS’s policy not to broadcast certain types of contentious advocacy ads.
Contentious advocacy ads.
I’d like to know how CBS arrived at the conclusion that airing an anti-abortion ad during the Super Bowl is NOT contentious.
I didn’t find much of what CBS offered in the way of programming worth watching before, but now I have even more reason to pass right by that channel.
Shame on you, CBS. I can only conclude one thing from your decision: you are whores for money and you will ignore your own policies when it suits your bottom line.
