… Dr. Larry Brilliant, for whom I worked in the early part of this decade when he was at the helm of a new media company called SoftNet.

Larry went on to work for Google as their chief philanthropic evangelist. He got to give away money. One billion dollars. What a job, huh?

No, I was not a recipient.

Larry is going to continue on in a philanthropic role, but for a different organization – which he describes here.

Reading about Larry has knocked me into a funk of introspection. I miss the days in San Francisco working at SoftNet. We had a ping pong table and free Peet’s Coffee. I had enough stock options to be a millionaire.

Gadzooks! Was that even really in this same life?

So sayeth the StickMonkey
