One of my heros today told me that one of his heros died this morning.

My hero is Seth Godin. His hero was Zig Ziglar.

If you are in the sales or marketing field, Zig was an icon. He was an amazing motivational speaker, and I count myself lucky enough to have heard him speak on three occasions.

The thing that set Zig Ziglar apart from other speakers of his ilk was that he made everything he talked about applicable to his audience. I’ve never forgotten it. He was the person I tried to emulate whenever I did any public speaking.

Until the first time I heard Steve Jobs.

Now, I borrow a bit from both.

So sayeth the StickMonkey.
